The Guy Behind the Blog

My name is Billy Smith, and I am currently in my first year in the marketplace working for the nation’s largest food broker Acosta Sales and Marketing in their Leadership Development Program.
My wife and I live in St Paul, MN and one of our passions isto serve with The St Paul Urban Ministry during our free time.

Ever since my junior year in college I have been very curious about leadership. I had been able to exerience being a leader in collegiate organizations and projects, but I noticed the power of leadership. The tipping point was when I saw my lack of understanding of leadership when I failed to get a big project going for our SIFE Team. Even with this failure I have been lucky to take some leadership classes in college, but also try to spend a lot of time to read books and blogs on leadership and related topics inorder to avoid failures like this again.

Some of my accomplishments where:

- Produced a concert that grossed over $125,000 and one that grossed over $75,000
- Active and held leadership positions in Collegiate American Marketing Association, SIFE, and Campus Activities
- Awarded the Presidential Service Award

My journey in life is really just begining and there is a lot I want to do and accomplish while I am here. My goal is to take full advantage of what God has blessed me with.

You can always reach me via email if there are any questions or comments you might have.

I believe that by just being a part of “Priscilla’ Palmer’s Personal Development list obligates each of us to also post this list. You like me (Killeris at “Attitude, the Ultimate Power”) are on this list. If you have already posted it, THANK YOU. If you have not posted it, I am officially putting out a challenge that you add additional sites that fit the theme and post it. This list can be found at: http://mondaymorningpower.blogspot.com/2007/09/personal-development-list-challenge.html.

You use the expression tipping point so guess you’ve read the book by that title, The Tipping Point. A great read for any of your readers wanting to know more about this concept.

This was an intereting site. I am now going to have to research Pricilla Palmer’s self development program. It seem there is quite a buzz about it. Thanks.

You can really be suprised with your accomplishments even after you fail once. Being a good leader will really help if you start your own buisness. You don’t even need your own buisness to be a leader. You have the qualities then you should be alright
